Why This Course Matters:
Modern office spaces change fast, and they need walls that can change with them. Demountable partitions are the high-tech, modular alternative to permanent drywall. Mastering these systems makes you a precision specialist. Because these components are often pre-finished (like vinyl, fabric, or glass), there is zero room for error—you have to get it right the first time, with no mud or tape to hide your mistakes.

What You’ll Learn:

Progressive vs. Non-Progressive: You’ll learn the logic behind different modular builds. We’ll master “progressive” systems (built in a specific sequence) and “non-progressive” systems (where individual panels can be swapped out without tearing down the whole wall).

  • The Art of the Batten: You’ll get hands-on with both batten and battenless designs. You’ll learn to use patent fasteners, specialized framing, and trimming materials to create a seamless, high-end look that looks like a permanent structure but functions like furniture.

  • Precision Frames & Glazing: You’ll move beyond standard door frames. We’ll show you how to install specialized steel and aluminum door and glazed (glass) frames, ensuring every corner, intersection, and termination is perfectly plumb and tight.

  • Finishing Touches: You’ll learn to handle and install delicate surface materials like vinyl and fabric panels. We’ll cover the base details and gasketing that give these walls their polished, professional appearance.

  • The Science of Silence & Safety: A glass wall is useless if you can hear everything through it. You’ll dive into Sound Transmission Class (STC) ratings and gasketing techniques to ensure privacy, along with the specific requirements for fire-resistive applications.

The Bottom Line:
By the end of this module, you’ll be a specialist in “clean” construction. You’ll be able to install complex, multi-functional wall systems that meet strict acoustic and fire codes, all while maintaining the flawless finish that high-end corporate clients demand.
