The Anatomy of a Wall: You’ll learn to tell the difference between load-bearing, non-bearing, prefabricated, and shaft walls at a glance. You’ll master the “why” and “how” of selecting the right metal gauges and stud spacing for any job.

Precision Metal Framing: This is the heart of the ISM trade. You’ll get hands-on with floor and ceiling layouts, plumbing and aligning procedures, and the installation of complex intersecting walls. We’ll show you the pro secrets for framing out windows, doors, and access openings so they are rock-solid every time.

Systems & Sound: Modern buildings need to be quiet and sturdy. You’ll learn to install resilient sound bars for acoustic control and master furring systems to level out uneven concrete or masonry walls using shimming and securing techniques.

The Ultimate Team Player (Backing & Prep): A great Lather makes everyone else’s job easier. You’ll learn to install the internal backing and brackets required for electrical fixtures, heavy plumbing, and cabinets. You’ll also prep the “recessed” spaces for fire hose cabinets and fixtures.

Climate & Comfort (Insulation): You’ll dive into the science of heat transfer, vapour barriers, and sound attenuation. You’ll learn exactly how to select and install batt-type and rigid insulation to meet energy and privacy standards.
